It was 49 degrees in Michigan at one point this weekend. This is not okay! Clearly the season is changing and we think that’s a great time to make some fun changes to Zipments.

Starting today, customers are now able to share their job postings on various social platforms to help deliver even the impossible!

Think about it. Last week we had someone post a Tom’s Mom’s cookie delivery from Harbor Springs to Grand Rapids, Michigan (about a 3.5 hour drive, one way). If this customer had been able to share his post with his Facebook and Twitter accounts, he may have found someone heading from Harbor Springs to Grand Rapids that day.

(By the way, Tom’s Mom’s Cookies are seriously good.)

If you think about your social network like a web of people all somehow connected to you, it is very likely that someone is in the area you need something picked up from and is willing to do so, at any given moment.

Here’s how it works:

1. Fill out the job form and post it.

2. Click on one of these buttons to share it to Facebook, Twitter, Email or other:

Once you’ve shared your job, friends can click on the link provided to place their bid. They can also register as a courier if they haven’t done that yet. In fact, check out a quick story about one job that was posted last week where the courier signed up after a customer posted the job on their social network.
