Some couriers have been asking to receive new job postings by SMS. Now that the twitter feed for GR is available — @ZipJobsGR — this is relatively painless to setup. There are two methods available to you depending upon whether or not you have a twitter account.

If you don’t have a twitter account

You can use twitter’s Fast Follow feature. Send this text to 40404

follow ZipJobsGR

That’s it! You could also use this method even if you do have a twitter account and don’t care to link your phone to it.

If you ever want to turn off those texts, just text

OFF ZipJobsGR

to the same number.

If you have an account

Now, if you do have an account and haven’t yet setup your mobile for twitter use but you’d like to, follow these steps. Navigate to your Settings, and then the Mobile tab. You can also use this direct link.

At this point, you’ll need to enter and verify your mobile phone number. This will require sending the text “GO” to 40404 from the phone you entered.

After verification, you should be presented with a number of options for text message notifications. The other options are up to you, but if you want to get job messages you’ll need to make sure “Tweets from people you’ve enabled for mobile notifications”

Head to the @ZipJobsGR page. Click the follow button if you aren’t yet following. Then, you’ll see a little phone icon next to the green “Following” button. Click it to have tweets from @ZipJobsGR sent to the mobile phone you just registered.

This method is a little more involved, but it allows you some extra options for general twitter usage outside of Zipments.
